What will I study in Health and Social Care?

Cambridge National Level 2 Students will complete four units over 2 years: R021: Essential values of care for use with individuals in care settings (exam), R022: Communicating and working with individuals in health, social care and early years settings (portfolio), R023: Understanding body systems and disorders (portfolio) and R029 Understanding the nutrients needed for good health (portfolio)

Exam Information

The exam board is OCR

Cambridge National Award (Level 2)

Unit R021 - 25% of the final qualification and will be sat in May of Year 10

Unit R022 - 25% of the final qualification and will be completed by June of Year 10

Unit R023 and R029  - both 25% of the final qualification and will be completed by the end of Year 11

Unit R021 and R022 are mandatory units and carry a stipulation that students MUST get level 2 pass or higher in each to get a level 2 pass or higher in the overall qualification. The two remaining are optional units to centres chosen by Imberhorne based on the expertise and experience of Health and Social Care staff. Students must pass all unit components or will fail the qualification regardless of any high scores in other units.
