Sustained Success and Enormous Pride

Just before half term, the government's first release performance table information was published, confirming the sustained success of Imberhorne students when looking at GCSE results from Summer 2018. Our initial Progress 8 score is +0.1 meaning that progress in the school is well above national average.

In other measures we come out even stronger!  Our strongest measure shows that we have amongst the highest number of students, across West Sussex, entered for the Ebacc. The EBacc refers to a combination of subjects that the government thinks is important for young people to study at GCSE. It includes; English language and literature, maths, the sciences, geography or history and a language. This is a reflection of how challenging our curriculum is. Many other schools fall well below us on this measure. To attain such strong Progress 8 scores with an overwhelmingly academic curriculum reflects our commitment to a broad and challenging set of qualifications. We believe this serves our students well and are thoroughly proud of their achievements.
