Students Celebrate!

Imberhorne’s students celebrated as they received their GCSE and BTEC results this Summer. As a school, Imberhorne have retained a 99% pass rate (9 – 1). 73% of grades, across all subjects, were at grade 4 or above with 79% of grades in English at 4+ and 74% of Maths grades at 4+. In addition to this, 77% of all grades in Science were 4+.  We are particularly pleased with a substantial increase in the very highest grade, with 84 grade 9’s awarded across all subjects!

One student deserves a special mention with grade 9 in all of their subjects, eleven in total, which is a remarkable achievement. The top grade is difficult to achieve and reflect very well on the individuals who attained them and they should be extremely proud of such success.

A number of subject areas excelled, some key performances were as follows:

  • 100% of the students studying GCSE Textiles gained grade 4 or higher
  • One fifth of the year group studied the individual sciences. The percentage achieving grade 4+ in Biology, Chemistry and Physics was well over 90%
  • 94% of students studying GCSE Electronics attained a grade 4 or higher along with 92% of students studying Italian
  • 85% of students studying GCSE Dance or GCSE Graphics also attained grade 4+
  • Humanities and the Arts subjects performed consistently, retaining the strong standards set in previous years

We are delighted that the year group as a whole performed well, with the majority of students meeting or surpassing their target grades.  Ultimately, what we value most highly is that students have fulfilled their potential. We welcomed back many of our students into the Sixth Form and for those embarking on courses elsewhere, we wish them the very best of luck in their future ventures.
