Record A Level Exam Success

Imberhorne’s Sixth Form students celebrated outstanding A Level and BTEC results this summer. The school retained a 99% pass rate with 58% of entries at grade A*-B and 84% at grade A*-C.  These are impressive results and the best the school has ever achieved!

Martin Brown, Headteacher commented "We are rightly very proud of our students for their hard work and commitment.  Such success does not come without a great deal of effort. Over 33% of all entries were grade A/A* with 14 students gaining at least 3 A/A* grades, this is a notable achievement and reflects very well on these individuals who should be congratulated for their endeavours."

A number of subject areas excelled, some key performances were as follows:

  • 50% of all grades in Maths were A/A*
  • 18 students were entered for the Extended Project Qualification, 15 of these students achieved A/A* grades
  • 8 subjects had 75% or more grades at A*/B - Art & Design, Chemistry, French, Italian, Politics, Science, Performing Arts and Music

We are delighted that the year group, as a whole, performed so well, with the overwhelming majority of students meeting or surpassing their target grades. Ultimately, what we value most highly is that students have fulfilled their potential. Whilst a significant number of students are embarking on University courses a sizeable number are also starting apprenticeships or moving directly into employment. We wish them well for the future and thank them for all they have done for the school in their time here. They are outstanding individuals with a great deal to offer the wider community.
