Harry and Georgia Wow the Judges

The annual Imberhorne Key Stage 3 Musician of the Year concert was held in the Di Gasson theatre on Thursday 6th June to a packed audience. The event has been running for a number of years now and has become somewhat of a school tradition that the whole school community looks forward to.

The judges this year were made up of musical members of Imberhorne staff Mr Jones, Mr Conroy and Mrs Cook. Judges were tasked with awarding the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in the categories of Vocal and Instrumental performances. With an eclectic and fantastic range of young talent on display from across Key Stage 3 students, this was always going to be an exceptionally difficult job.

The stage was set and every single one of the performances was remarkable. For some, it was the first time they had performed in public but you would never know. The atmosphere was wonderful and it was lovely to see such a large and hugely supportive audience. The judges were looking for technical control, accuracy, projection and engagement. After some deliberation and musical interludes from some of the year 10 GCSE students, the wait was over. The winners were:

Vocal

1st  Georgia Kewell

2nd Sophie Harris

3rd Izzy Upton

Instrumental

1st Harry Pepler (Piano)

2nd Thomas Poole (Cornet)

3rd Trinettra Ruben (Violin)
