Mrs Timson, Assistant Headteacher, has recently prepared her assemblies around the subject of 'Empathy'. She discussed how most of us are pretty good when showing empathy to our friends but asked students to reflect on how good we are about showing understanding with people we don’t know or we don’t particulalry like.

If we can use our empathy skills that we work hard to develop in school, we can link these to our tolerance and acceptance.

Students were shown a film clip called “Under the Surface” which highlighted that we never really know what is going on in peoples' lives and that we all have our different 'bumps in the road' to deal with. Mrs Timson finished by sharing the following poem.
