Cabaret

In March 2009, as part of their final assessment, the BTEC Performing Arts students performed in their very own cabaret show. There was singing, dancing and sparkly lights aplenty in this musical extravaganza of songs and dances from stage and screen. The numbers were from shows including, Rent, Chicago, Cabaret, Les Miserables, Moulin Rouge, Witches of Eastwick, Fame and Miss Saigon. Highlights included the very funny ‘Master of the House’, a very moving rendition of ‘I’d give my life for you’ from Miss Saigon,  ‘I wish I may’ – a beautiful three-part harmony from ‘Witches of Eastwick’ and ‘Starmaker’ a lovely dance piece from ‘Fame’.   This was the culmination of BTEC students’ work over the past two years which has included the study of voice, dancing, singing and acting. The house was packed and the audience was treated to wine and nibbles at their tables as part of the whole Cabaret experience. A fabulous time was had by all. Miss H. Coffey
