Mr R. LangstoneYear 7 Gifted and Talented Science pupils investigated Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection as part of the Year of Darwin.

Thursday March 4th 2010 saw our team of Year 8 and Year 9 attending the UKMT Team Mathematics Competition at Ardingly College. This was a regional final featuring teams from Surrey, Sussex, and Kent. There were 26 teams in total.

Our German partner school in Dortmund visited us for a week early in the term and had a very enjoyable week.

By F. Russell and F. CollettiWe started the trip off with a very early trip to Gatwick, meeting at Imberhorne upper school at 5.45am. Everyone was very bleary eyed, but full of energy and raring to go.

The Year 7 rugby team won on 14 October 2009, 24-12 against Holy Trinity from Crawley in the 1st round of the County Cup. We had seven boys making their Imberhorne debuts and what a way to win!

Congratulations to J. Woodhouse, P. Stagg and A. Pinder for finishing in the top three of last year’s Leader League; a league set up to monitor the number of times the sports leaders assist with the School Sports Coordinator Programme with Mr S Hill.

On Saturday 14 November, we took a group of KS3 rugby students to Twickenham to watch England Vs Argentina.

The Sixth Form football team completed a terrible week with a third home loss of fixtures. Losing 8-1 in the first league match of the season to an average Oriel side boosting an ex-pupil of ours and quite a few of our players injured or unavailable.

The Yr 9 rugby team played St Andrews in the State School County Cup. They lost 26-0 but this score flattered the hosts as both teams played some excellent defensive rugby. The score at half time was only 7-0 to the visitors.
