Over 80 amazing Year 7s volunteered their time on 2nd December to craft lanterns for Young Epilepsy and their Winter Wonderland Garden. We could not be more proud of the effort and enthusiasm they put into the workshop.

We would like to share some really great news with the community - Zac Lammas in Year 13 has won the Mid Sussex Applause Award in the Young Achiever Category 2020! Nobody deserves it more than Zac - he is a true inspiration to each and every one of us in school every day. Sally Blackmore, Community Engagement Officer from Mid Sussex District Council, visited on 7th December to personally deliver Zac's award as the usual celebration awards cannot take place this year, sadly. With Zac's permission, he shares his story by video on the link below. In association with the Mintridge Foundation and sponsored by the Gatwick Community Trust, we were able to offer 25 of our Year 9 students the opportunity to join in with mentoring from retired Athlete Fil Kamps.

Our Student Council for 2020-2021 met for the first time on 10th November to tackle the first few items on their agenda for the year.

We are extrememly proud of Comfort Wallis in Year 9 who spent a great deal of her spare time over recent weeks making poppies for Remembrance Day. Using her fabulous hand sewing skills she produced 120 poppies to sell and raised £264.38 for the Royal British Legion.

Thank you to all the students who entered the Key Stage 3 European Day of Languages T-shirt Competition in September. The winners have received an edible treat, a skip the queue canteen pass and achievement points.

We were really impressed by the efforts from 7Q KBE who ran their own Form Group photography competition over the October half-term. When it came to deciding on the winner, the form group decided that every student who entered was a winner because of the excellent effort made - brilliant idea!

We would like to say a huge thank you to The East Grinstead Arts Society who have recently donated money to our Music and Art departments. TASEG have been long time supporters of Imberhorne School and have donated regularly over the years for us to provide 'extras' for our students.
