Tremendous County Cup win for the Year 8 cricket team

by Mr N. CollyerAfter four away games the Year 8 cricket team played St Bedes in the County Cup (unbeaten in three years).  Bowling first, St Bedes were in trouble at 19-2. Through tight bowling from all the bowlers, the impressive Billings kept St Bedes in the game until Linnet got his man. Stowell ripped through the tail, ending with figures of 2-4 of overs, St Bedes 111-9 of 30 overs.Westgate got Imberhorne off to a flier with 31 of 24 balls. After a few quick wickets, St Bedes thought they were back in the game - step forward player of the year, Stuart Cameron who hit 28 of 25 balls and along with the highly impressive  Trotter, saw Imberhorne home to a seven wicket win and their  first ever Cricket County Cup win. A fabulous team effort. Well done boys! With special thanks to all the parents who supported the team throughout the season.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
