Record A Level Results 2018

Sixth Form students celebrated on Thursday 16th August as they collected their A Level results after an expectant and nerve-wracking wait over the summer. Records were broken for the school with an impressive 33% of all entries achieving grade A/A* and individual success has been amazing with 19 students this year gaining 3 or more A grades which is a phenomenal personal achievement for them all.

A 99% pass rate over all means that we retain our excellent academic record for further education at Imberhorne. A number of subjects exceeded 60% for students gaining grades at A*-B, this included Biology, Drama, Performing Arts, Economics, Electronics, Maths and Politics. These are very impressive results for the students, staff and school.

Martin Brown, Headteacher - ‘Results across the whole Sixth Form were impressive, with most students meeting or surpassing their target grades.  All students thoroughly deserve our congratulations for the hard work and commitment they have shown in achieving such success.  These qualifications are the stepping stones to their futures and will enable them to pursue a whole range of options, these currently include courses as diverse as; Architecture, Medicine, Journalism, Robotics, International Relations, Forensic Science, Law, Medieval Languages, Music and Sound Production, History and Zoology amongst many others. Whilst a significant number of students are embarking on University courses a number are starting apprenticeships or moving directly into employment, we wish them well for the future and thank them for all they have done for the school in their time here.  They are outstanding individuals with a great deal to offer the wider community, we are rightly proud of them all.’
