Imberhorne Sixth Form Vs. Collyers

After Imberhorne got the point they needed away at Thomas Bennett to win their group, the boys faced Collyers in the Quarter Final playoff game at Imberhorne Lane. A tense first half finished 0-0 after Imberhorne seemed to dominate without creating much in the way of clear chances. C. Montagu-Dodd and C. Richards combined well down the right flank and A. Banks led the game from central midfield. Collyers probably felt relieved to go in to the break level, especially after a S. Macrae free-kick hit the crossbar, but in truth they had their fair share of good chances, L. Lindsay saving well down to his left as the half-time whistle was blown. After the break, Imberhorne started brightly and A. Banks nicked in to put the home side 1-0 up. From then on it was one-way traffic with three more goals added in the second half. C. Montagu-Dodd moved up top to partner S. Banks and the two combined well to put pressure on the visitors. Charlie got two deserved goals either side of a M. Burrows's strike to put the game to bed. Imberhorne even had the luxury of missing chance after chance with A. Banks, W. Irwin and R. Cumbers all going close. Imberhorne now go on to face a tricky away tie in the Semi-Final but on this performance should compete with anyone. Final score: Imberhorne 4 - 0 Collyers Man of the match: A. Banks.Mr D Weaver
