Dabell Memorial Match - 11th October 2012

On one of the wettest days of the year, and that's saying something for 2012, the Imberhorne and  Sackville 6th formers treated us to 90 minutes of excellent football for the annual memorial match, which celebrates the life of Adam Dabell, a former Sackville pupil, who collapsed and died tragically on the football pitch in 2004.The score when the final whistle went was 1-1, the scorers being Connor Class for Sackville and Nick Owens for Imberhorne, and so the game was decided on penalties. A magnificent save by George Chapman of Sackville gave them the final winning result, 5 : 4. The town mayor, Liz Bennet, attended and had photos taken with both teams and presented the cup and medals.  It was a fabulous evening, uniting the players and crowds of both our local schools.
