Assembly Intentions

Assemblies in the week of 16th September were delivered by Dr Barr, Deputy Headteacher, who discussed kindness, giving and generosity. Dr Barr challenged students to look for opportunities to be kind. Maybe to someone in their class that they don’t usually talk to or to give their time to do something helpful at home, like make a cup of tea!

Already, lots of students have shared with staff their acts of kindness and the positive impact of their kind words and gestures. The theme of generosity was also linked to our non-uniform day on 20th September which was in aid of Cancer Research UK. Imberhorne raised a phenomenal £1946 for the charity.

We believe that acts of compassion are all around us in school everyday, we try and encourage this behaviour in our school community and recognise when we observe kindness taking place, both in and out of school.
