Imberhorne School provides great education for around 1,700 pupils, but currently, there is very little indoor space for sport and other activities such as music, drama and dance.

Imberhorne is the only school in the whole of West Sussex which does not have a Sports Hall, despite it being classified by Ofsted as an Outstanding’ School.

We are raising funds to enable a state of the art facility to be built. Such a facility will also benefit the wider community as it will promote sport and performing arts for everyone - we plan that it will be available for all to use.

The School Governors have been working hard for more than a year and a substantial amount of money has already been earmarked for the project.

Whilst WSCC are very supportive, there is little money readily available for capital projects, but if we are able to show that as well as the students and parents, the whole community is backing the new Sports Hall then we should gain substantially more funding to make it work.

To do that, we aim to raise enough ourselves to prove our commitment and to make it a sure bet. The aim is that building works can start by the end of 2012.
