Educational visits and school trips 2012 to 2013

What do we do?		Visit Il Duomo, Milan, visit to Pallanza, staying with host families, touring three islands on Lake Maggiore, trip to Intra a small fishing village. Visit to the Swiss mountain town of Locarno.

Who's it for?		Year 8
When do we go there?		June
When do they come back here?		n/a
What do we do?		Stay in Cap d'Opale centre in Ambleteuse (see here for details), visit Nausicaa National Centre for the Sea. Visit Bec a Suc sweet-making shop, learn how to make and bake traditional bread. Visit First and Second World War memorial and battle sites.

Who's it for?		Year 13
When do we go there?		October/November
When do they come back here?		March/April
What do we do?		Stay at Minaki School, Kisarawe, near Dar es Salaam. We live with a teacher and their family, go to A Level lessons, teach at the local primary schools and also spend time at the Kisarawe Orphanage – playing with the orphans, singing songs etc. After the first week, we go off on safari to Mikumi National Park for three days followed by three nights at Kipepeo Beach Resort near Dar es Salaam.

Who's it for?		Key Stage 3
When do we go there?		September
When do they come back here?		May/June
What do we do?		Staying with host families. Visit to Amsterdam art galleries, art lessons at Kandinsky College. Cheese-making lessons, touring the canals by boat, cycling and exploring the country side.

Who's it for?		Year 12 Biology students
When do we go there?		September
When do they come back here?		July
What do we do?		Work experience at Gavle Hospital. Field trip on the Baltic Coast and visit to Stockholm. Swedish students field trip to the Isle of Wight.
Who should I see if I'm interested?		Ms M. Jago

Who's it for?		Years 9 and 10
When do we go there?		October
When do they come back here?		N/A
What do we do?		Stay in a hotel. A combination of sightseeing and learning Spanish with trips to Barcelona, the monastery of Montserrat and PortAventura theme park, combined with 6 hours of language lessons and many opportunities to put the language learned into practice.

Who's it for?		Years 12 and 13
When do we go there?		February
When do they come back here?		N/A
What do we do?		Stay 2 nights in a pensión. This focus of this trip is to encourage all students to use Spanish prior to the oral exam which takes place between March and May. Year 13 students will also have the opportunity to see places of interest in the city of Madrid which they study as one of their cultural topics for the A2 exam.
