We have been running a successful paper recycling scheme since September 2006. At lower school a team of Year 7 students, coordinated by some enthusiastic Year 8 students, and a dedicated member of staff, give up one lunchtime a week to empty the recycling bins around the school. As a reward to the pupils for getting involved, they receive badges that allow them to queue-jump the dinner queue on the days they are not recycling. What a bonus!

The success of the project is due to the students' involvement and enthusiasm. Thank you all for your help and support, you are great.

The success of the scheme has prompted the school to review its use of paper, including moving to using only paper from sustainable forests.
