Maths at KS3
Students in Year 7 are taught in mixed ability sets for three weeks and are then placed into three ability sets. We focus on numeracy and problem solving in Year 7 in order to build confidence and skills. In Year 8 and 9, students continue in three ability sets.Throughout Key Stage 3 we review students' progress and their set position. We believe that this enables students to work at an appropriate level of challenge and support, whilst not labelling them too early on.
Exam Information
In Year 7 students sit progress tests at the end of each term.
In Year 8 students sit progress tests at the end of each term and a mid KS3 assessment.
In Year 9 students sit progress tests at the end of each half term.
