Curriculum Intent
Our vision is to use our curriculum to identify and promote key areas of historical knowledge, understanding and skills to best equip all our students for young and adult life. We believe that engaging and effective teaching and learning lie at the very heart of this process.
As well as knowing and understanding the relevant subject knowledge students will also be developing their abilities to apply the following key skills which are woven into the curriculum and highlighted further in the subject ‘takeaways’:
- Cause and consequence
- Change and continuity
- Similarity and difference / diversity
- Evidential understanding
- Historical interpretations
- Significance
- Chronological understanding
